How do you guys set up your Garmins when you are doing multi-sport. I’m not sure how I should use it for the Duathlon. I thought I could just make each length and each transition a split, but then my overall pace was kind of meaningless. Should I just reset at each transition? Is there some special function I’m missing? Should I *gasp* read the manual?
Long weekend!!
Perfect morning for a run/bike/run. Also, a perfect morning for lazing in bad for at least an hour longer than intended, but whatever. I did both.
Ran 3K
Biked 9.25K
Ran 1.8K
And with that, I’m as ready as I’m going to be for the duathlon. I’m going to do some (hopefully) final adjusting to my bike set up today, and get 2 runs and 1 ride in this week, all at...
It’s been a week. A tough week. I had a health thingie this week that left me physically and emotionally drained. Dave’s off at crossfit and Tumblrers are all posting about the awesome things they are doing and I’m still laying in bed, like a sloth. I’m feeling better though. So glad this long weekend is here and I can get out and enjoy it!
I only ran 1.5 times this week...
I’m not going to lie, I’m a little intimidated by the 10K clinic I’m instructing. Not all of them, but some of them.
I got an email today from one of the people in the clinic wanting my advice on meeting is 55 min goal. Ummm… yeah, right now I think I would be lucky to do 1:10. This dude’s been running longer than me I’m sure, shouldn’t I be asking him...
I have not written or mentioned Sunday’s Half marathon yet, aside from the one post saying I had finished, because I keep flip flopping on how I feel about it.
It will come.
In other news, my 10K clinic starts tomorrow night! This will be my 4th clinic I’ve instructed, but the first 10K clinic. I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous that everyone in my clinic will be better...

Half marathon complete! I didn’t PR, and when I realized at 12k there was no chance at a PR I took it easy, but my 4th Half Marathon is done!
I’ll do a proper race report later, for now I’m wrestling with my brain to have an ice bath.

TRUTH: I can’t stop thinking about the frozen yogurt I’m going to eat after the Half on Sunday.
I lost a cheque for $25 made out to me. I feel like such an idiot. It’s not a lot of money, but money is money.
In other news, I called my bank just now to ask about a rebate, which I apparently already get, but to be nice, they put $29 in the account I was looking for the rebate in. Banks giving out free money, wow!
Now to find that cheque.

I think I’ve been in the bathtub for about 2h now, and the sad part is because its where I feel I can hide out from the stresses of life. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a little relaxing in the bath, but when you’re actually feeling anxiety about getting out, despite the water being room temperature, because you’re worried you’ll start thinking...

I did 7.5K of intervals on the treadmill tonight. 7.5K on the treadmill is so boring, but I did get to watch Bumper Stumpers and Super Market Sweep. Man, those people on SuperMarket Sweep get pissy when they lose!
Tomorrow, if the weather cooperates, I ride my bicycle.

Last real long run of training is done! 20k (plus a bit more where I forgot to start my watch after a stop light) complete. I felt pretty good despite running out of water, and therefor not investing any fuel after 14 or so k.
I did sort of (very much) misjudged my route today about 5k from home. I had to call Dave to come get me. He brought chocolate milk and my dog to greet me. Perfect way to...
As I’m sitting here mentally preparing for my last long training run before the Half in 2 weeks, I started to think some negative thoughts. Did I even need to bother doing this run, I could at least cut it down, it’s not like I’m going to PB anyways.
I’ve been comparing myself to last years training for this race so much, how much faster I was, how much better I was, how...

I did my first mini brick workout tonight. 10.55k on the bike followed by a 1.2k run. I went out planning to just try out my first real ride on my new bike, but couldn’t resist the urge to see how my legs felt on a run right after. The answer to that question was “not great.”
However, the answer could also have been, “not terrible.” Especially once I got moving.
You...
I ran between 4-5K tonight with my run club. I have a million reasons I feel like that run was a fail, but I can’t bring myself to even think about saying them out loud. They don’t matter.
I ran 4-5K in my Toronto Waterfront Marathon shirt, and I will just leave it at that.

Currently trying to find the motivation to go run 19k.
Yesterday we came to the realization that us running on our treadmill gives our dog anxiety and causes her to chew shoes. She won’t even settle in her bed. Silly anxiety dog. Good thing she is so darn cute.
