Leaving work and will not be back for 14 days. Feels weird!
Sometimes you just have days like this
Forgot my running shoes at home, so no group run after work.
My Kobo reader was dead this morning, so no reading on my commute.
Left my key card for work in the car.
Had the busiest day ever at work.

My mom just called to say my grandpa is really not doing well. This is stressful for the obvious reasons, but even moreso because I fly out on Monday for 2 weeks in Califonia. I feel I should be with my family. What if something happens while I’m gone? What do I do? Can I squeeze in a trip to see him before I go?

I forgot to post this yesterday, so I thought I’d just give a quick update now.
Yesterday was W7D2 of training, week 7 already?? Time is flying! I did a steady paced 7.5K run with the crew from work. We finished in about 51 minutes. Felt like I could have went on further, actually I did even leave the group at the end for an extra couple blocks, but then my stomach, as it always does,...
my feet are driving me crazy
plantar fasciitis
major bump/bruise from pressure point in my new shoes, making it extremely painful to run
major bump/bruise from pressure point in my other ankle from my not new skates. I’ve had these skates for 2-3 years, why is this suddenly happening and getting worse over the last 3 weeks?
and now, my feet keep cramping non stop the last hour or so
I bought a CrossFit for 10 sessions today. What have I gotten myself into?
I’ll probably hold off using it for a couple months. My schedule is going to be changing, which will allow me to more easily fit it in. I also don’t want to change anything too drastically before my 2 half marathons in May, but after that should be perfect timing!
So there was more than time that was not on my side today. I made it 200 meters. I won’t get into the details of why because it will just sound like excuses. I’ll do my long run tomorrow.
Now, I prep for a baby photo shoot I’m doing in 2 hours!

I did an easy 4.5K this morning, trying to work in the new shoes.

Did 6.5K tempo run in my new running shoes today! Kept up a 6min/km pace which is better than I thought I could do over that distance, so that was nice! Had to take an extra day rest yesterday and skip my run, my calves were still in a lot of pain and I could barely walk, never mind run. Feeling much better today, a little tight, but not really painful.

Had 6.5K on the schedule tonight, had to cut it just a bit short at 5.75K due to stomach issues, yet again. Story of my running life. Slainte St. Patricks Day 5.54km race recap
Yesterday I ran a 5k. It was my first race in 4 months, and it was a fast course so I was looking forward to it, and even sort of expecting hoping for a PB.
The race was in Hamilton, ON, so I got to the starting point, which was actually the finish of the race around 11:15 am to pick up my kit and bib, and then catch a bus to the start, as this was a point to point race. Bib pick up wasn’t...

Ran 6k tonight in about 41 mins. Accidentally paused the Garmin so I’m not exactly sure. Unfortunately I got stuck at work after the run so didn’t make it to the gym tonight. I can’t wait for the great weather that’s coming our way, not to mention the extended daylight hours!!
2012 Race Schedule
My goal this year was to do an organized active event each month of the year. This could be racing, running, biking, or who knows what other things I will get myself into. Most of these things are already signed up for, but a few may change, and there’s a few blank months left to be filled. I’ll update as we go!

Wow, week 4 already! This is the week things start to really pick up for me. It’s been a while since I’ve ran over 10K, this is the week I will.

March Goals
Keeping it simple this month.
1. Run a race.
2. Lose 5 lbs. Getting back to tracking food will be key for this.
3. Drink at least 64 oz of water/day.
4. Follow the Half training plan.
Looking back at Feb goals
Here they are:
1. Get my weight down into the 100’s! didn’t happen. I’m really struggling with the weight loss part of this whole weight loss journey.
2. Do 20 real pushups. I’m currently at 15, 14 more than I could do 2 months ago.
3. Run a minimum of 4x/week, as per the Half training plan! success, with the exception of 1 week, I was in a ringette tournament.
