A look back at May goals
May 6 Half Marathon goal time 2:20 - I didn’t hit this goal time due to injury. I was 9 minutes off and I was super pissed about it but I guess I learned some stuff and I finished, so that’s better than not. Focus on following the physio plan to help/heal my plantar fasciitis - I did all of the things asked of me to heal, but the healing hasn’t happened yet. Prepare to...

I went to one of those Turbo Jam classes tonight. I pretty much hated every minute of it. I went because I need to keep my cardio going while I’m not supposed to be running much and the thought of spinning on the bike wasn’t really doing it for me tonight. Toronto Women's Runs Half Marathon Race Recap
This was the race I was not supposed to run. Right up until 4 days before the race I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do. My options were, run the race and risk injuring myself further or don’t run the race and be depressed and wonder if I should have, or try to drop down to the 5K. Deep down, I think I pretty much knew I would do the half, despite everyone I talked to including my...
May 28, 2012: 212 lbs May 29, 2012: 210 lbs May 30, 2012: 210 lbs Not down, not up!
This new sports medicine clinic I’m visiting is within a fancy schmancy gym. This lady just came in with her gym clothes neatly hung on 2 hangers. Is this real life?
The 10 lb gain
I’ve gained 10 lbs in approximately 2 months or so.It was a bit of up and down, but I can generally think back to 2 months of making excuses. I’m going to write out my excuses here and then we’re going to note that these are not valid excuses and move on. I also want to note though, that I don’t feel that any one of these things alone is a deal breaker, it was the...
The last 3 days have been “what not to do before running a half marathon.” with this injury it’s really hard to be excited or positive headed into the race, but I’m trying. I also feel really fat headed into this race. Sigh.
