To you, what’s the hardest thing about running?
Pushing through in the heat. The heat really gets to me even when I’m not running. I get heat rash, prickly skin, etc., so add running in the mix and I’m a real hot mess. Literally. This summer hasn’t been quite as bad, simply because with my injury I’m not running as much or as far, and certainly not training, so no need to push myself. There have still been days though where I’ve finished my run and felt like crap the entire rest of the day due to the heat.
I’d also like to say injury has been the hardest thing about running. Not that I’ve been injured often, but now that I am, it’s hard. It’s hard to sit on the sidelines, it’s hard not to have a goal I’m training for, it’s hard to follow every order by my PT, it’s hard when you feel like there’s no end in sight.
